The Patriot Guard Riders have received a request on behalf of the 47 Veterans that are currently in the Veterans Assistance Program at King and Union Grove. The rehabilitation programs for these homeless vets will be closing in the coming months (likely by Fall 2017). These veterans will all need to be re-housed and they have no furniture or household items. Most entered these programs with nothing more than what fit in a backpack.
We will be accepting donations on behalf of these veterans and assisting them with getting settled into their new homes.
We will be accepting the following items:
There is a real sense of urgency as this is happening very quickly.
- Queen and Twin Size bed frames
- Queen and twin size box springs
- NEW queen and twin size mattresses. ONLY NEW
- Love Seats
- Chairs / Recliners
- End Tables / Coffee Tables
- Night Stands
- Dining Tables & Chairs
- Cleaning Supplies
As this is a very large undertaking on behalf of our veterans, we are asking for as much help as possible when we will be picking up and delivering these items.
Please keep in mind that these items will be going to those who stood for us, fought for us, and sacrificed for us and, as such, please make sure all items are clean and in good working condition. Our heroes deserve nothing less.
This is a perfect opportunity for us to step up and let them know that "WE WILL NEVER FORGET"
We also need to purchase new personal items such as bedding, cleaning supplies, dishes, silverware, cookware, pillows, towels, etc. If anyone would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to:
